Founded in 2014, Ledger is a leader in security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies and blockchain applications. Headquartered in Paris, Vierzon, New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong, Ledger has a team of 200 professionals developing a variety of products and services to safeguard cryptocurrency assets for individuals and companies – including the Ledger hardware wallets line already sold in 165 countries.

Pascal Gauthier President

Responsibilities

Pascal started his career at Kelkoo, a price comparison service acquired by Yahoo for EUR 475 million in 2004. He then joined the advertising company Criteo in 2008 where he worked for five years as COO, being instrumental in the pivot to advertising, which led to the company’s global expansion towards a EUR 2.17 billion market capitalisation.Before being nominated President at Ledger, Pascal worked as Venture Partner in Mosaic Ventures, a London based venture capital firm focusing on Series A stage companies. Pascal is also non-executive chairman of Kaiko, a financial data website on Bitcoin.

Charles Guillemet General Counsel

Responsibilities

Charles joined Ledger in 2017 as Chief Security Officer after working for 10 years of in the Cryptography & Hardware Security sector.He started his career at Tiempo, an innovative startup in the Secure industry, where he was designing the security of EAL5+ secure integrated circuits. He then worked as Technical Manager in an Information Technology Security Evaluation Facility (ITSEF) at the CEA (French research organisation in the areas of energy, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies).Charles holds a Master of Science in Cryptography & Security at the Engineering School ENSIMAG, with a Major Cryptography and Security (Valedictorian), where he is now a Lecturer.

Abbas Gassem Vice president Sales Operations

Responsibilities

Abbas has over 15 years of digital experience working with startups, high growth companies & corporates.He held various senior product roles at kelkoo.com, Yahoo!, Starz Play, a video-on-demand company, and Careem Taxi, a MENA leading ride hailing service and unicorn. He has worked in Europe, in the United States and in the Middle East.Abbas holds a Graduate Diploma in Computing from London Metropolitan University, a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Social Policy from University of London and an Associate Degree in International Business from Schiller International University Heidelberg, Germany.

Pierre Landy General Counsel

Responsibilities

Pierre brings over 25 years of experience as Legal Counsel.He started his career with Walt Disney Studios (Europe), in charge of for all Dubbing European business and various other legal issues, and Disneyland Paris where he worked on, amongst others, Intellectual Property issues during the first few years of the famous Theme Park. Pierre was then hired by Yahoo!, acting as General Counsel France and then over Europe.In addition to his deep understanding and knowledge of the legal issues arising in the EMEA region, Team Leadership is one of Pierre’s many natural strengths. He has a proven track record in this area, overseeing a team of lawyers and paralegals spread out over multiple countries in the EMEA region within Yahoo! Europe.Before joining Ledger in 2017, Pierre had co-founded the AndCo Law Alliance, an EMEA one stop shop focusing on providing externalized “in house” counsel expertise to Tech companies in the region.

Eric Larcheveque Chief Executive Officer

Responsibilities

Serial entrepreneur since 1996, Eric founded several companies in various sectors across Europe.In 2013, he discovered Bitcoin and the blockchain technology that struck him as the fourth industrial revolution. He then opened La Maison du Bitcoin, the French Bitcoin Center, before co-founding Ledger with the ambition to build the next European technological giant.

Responsibilities

Joel has 20 years of experience developing products as well as services in various sectors, especially in the Web, Media, and Music industries.In 2012, Joel launched Chronocoin, an online platform allowing its users to buy bitcoins using their credit card and have them delivered to their door, on a hardware wallet, before co-founding Ledger.

Pierre Osdoit Marketing Manager

Responsibilities

Pierre started his career as a Management Consultant at Capgemini Consulting, where he spent 5 years focusing on organisations and processes design in the Tech industry. Pierre then joined advertising company Criteo in 2009 as a Product Manager, before becoming Head of Product Roll-Out, with the objective of maximizing the company’s new product penetration and revenue.In 2016, Pierre became Chief Marketing Officer at TVTY, à French advertising company before joining Ledger in 2018 to develop the company’s marketing organization.

David Balland Vice President Operations

Responsibilities

Prior to co-founding Ledger in 2014, David launched Chronocoin, an online platform allowing its users to buy bitcoins using their credit card and have them delivered to their door, on a hardware wallet.With a strong background in Web Development, David previously worked as CTO for RadioceRos, one of the first popular French webradios and as Head of IT for Laboheme, a Cosmetic company.

Nicolas Bacca Chief Technical Officer

Responsibilities

Nicolas worked on card systems for 5 years at Oberthur, a leader in embedded digital security, ultimately as R&D Solution Architect. He left Oberthur to launch his company, Ubinity, which was developing smartcard operating systems.He finally co-founded BT Chip to develop an open standard, secure element based hardware wallet which eventually became the first version of the Ledger wallet.

Julien Juan Chief Operations Officer

Responsibilities

Julien started his career in 1999 in the Mobile Phone Division of Alcatel as Hardware Engineer, before moving to ST Microelectronics, initially as Hardware Support Engineer and then for 8 years in the Secure Element Division, working mainly for Gemalto.Julien joined Ledger in September 2015 as Director of Hardware Engineering, was nominated VP Hardware in July 2017 and then COO in July 2018.

Vanessa Rabesandratana Head Of Internal Communication

Responsibilities

After Political science studies, and Human Science degrees at La Sorbonne, Vanessa worked for 15 years in the Music industry, holding various positions in Strategy and Communications, while collaborating with dozens of companies. She worked as Art Director of a Parisian Concert Hall, and as Production and Communication Manager of a century-old French Symphonic Orchestra. She is still a music journalist for a Parisian publication. Vanessa became interested in Bitcoin when she worked on the RadioceRos WebRadio Project and then on Chronocoin. Since then, she became passionate about blockchain applications, and ended up co-founding Ledger in 2014. After leading the Customer Success Division of Ledger, she is now managing the Internal Communications.

Jean-Michel has an extensive and noteworthy career in the Financial industry, working for Euronext (Paris stock exchange) and the New York Stock Exchange, where he held various positions covering Equity Research, Strategy, M&A and IPO.In 2016 and 2017, Jean-Michel has served as an advisor to capital market technology firms, venture capital funds and to France FinTech, the French Association of Fintech.
